- I tend to agree. I can't prove how Apple's educational policy influenced
- their present success ( or lack thereof ), but I really think "student
- versions" are effective. If MS and other big PC s/w companies didn't also
- sell educational versions of thei "big guns" like Excel, 3D Studio, and
- Wordperfect, I would think Apple's market share would be at least slightly
- bigger than what it is today. College students, be they CS majors or o/w,
- tend to look for jobs they're qualified for after grduation ( to rephrase
- that, they usually can ONLY get such jobs ). Much knowledge/skills come
- from the classroom and labs, but much also come from using one's own PC in
- one's own free time.

- Sorry if I sound like some rambling fool. I would love to see a LW student
- version for different platforms, but if they don't, that's fine too. My
